Catching Up

Well.... I am finally catching up the blog. Things were quite hectic for a couple of months.... and otherwise .... Caelan just keeps us busy.

I kind of forgot though that this blog is the only way that soooo many of you are able to see Caelan, so my apologies for lagging in it. I realized how much he has changed since that last post. He has grown soooo much! His 6 month appointment in January he was 30 inches and 19 pounds!! He is in 12-18 month sized clothes, he is doing beautifully eating solids.... and is the sweetest child I have ever seen.... truly. He is always smiling and happy. As you will see going through the pictures over the past couple of months.... somewhere along the way he 'lost' one of his chins and found his neck!

He is SO amazing.

He has started sitting completely on his own and pushes up onto his knees when on his stomach... no crawling yet- he just makes a lot of 'swimming' movements! He still loves his bath- now taking 'big boy' baths in the tub! His teeth are visible below the gums, but still haven't cut through- poor thing! So he drools like a running faucet!

Did I mention that is just completely awesome???

We love him soooooo much!

The January and February pictures are not on my computer yet- I will get Matt to copy them over tonight so I can add more in the next couple of days. I hope to figure out how to add some of the videos we have- he has a great laugh and does some really cute things!

We took Caelan to the Great Wolf Lodge to see Santa..... and we could not believe who we ran into- Barbara and Eric! They were there for Eric's work Christmas party. They came over to see Caelan- the first time Barbara has seen him since NICU, the first time she has held him since birth. Barbara looked great and we were thrilled to see them.

Caelan visited with Santa for several minutes- he whispered into Santa's ear what he wanted for Christmas.Santa has authored a couple of books and wrote a very special message to Caelan inside his copy.

All of the kids at the lodge come out in their pj's each night for story time; Santa joined them in his own jammies and night hat to read his book to them.

We were really late in the month getting the tree up, so we decided to only put on a few special ornaments. Matt and I have 3 glass balls in 'our' colors... yellow with his name, red with OJ (love), and green with my name. There is also a silver one with my mom's name on it. We ordered one for Caelan as well.So I helped him hang his ornaments on the treeMy very special friend Sharon gave him a pair of blue porcelain (?) shoes with his name, birth date and weight and length.He really enjoyed looking at all his presentsMatt read Caelan one of his books he got for Christmas- "Click, Clack, Moo" from Aunt MM and Uncle Jay; he also got a new Curious George book from Aunt Sally and Uncle Jason, and some gifts from my Aunt Vanna and Uncle Bill, Pop and Shelle.

Caelan rolled over for the FIRST time- under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve!! How special is that!!

No worries though.... we saved his gifts to open when he woke up.... Grandpa and Matt helped him open his first present!Wrapping paper tastes good!

The seat turns all the way around, with several toys and rattles, etc all the way around.... and best of all.... he can JUMP! JUMP! JUMP!!!

He LOVES it!!

What's really cute though.... is when he just wears himself out in it and just all of a sudden.....

he just ZONKS OUT!!

One second he is jumping so hard and then literally within a second he is out cold!

It is soooo cute.... he still has his hands on the toys!

A Week in Pictures

ok.. so it was a little over a week.. but very busy with lots of big events! (The last week of November) My mom came up from Gulf Shores (disastrous travel due to weather) and Matt's sister Kathy came over from Hawaii. These two 'beach bums' were bundled up the whole time because it was 'freezing' here. Kinda funny!

Anyway... Kathy's birthday was that week, Caelan was baptised, his court date for final adoption processes was held on National Adoption Day, we had Thanksgiving, Caelan had his first real laugh,and my two pregnant sisters had baby boys! WOW!

Caelan's birth grandmother- Grandma Coger- made this beautiful hat and sweater for Caelan. It is sooo special! Kathy put the hat on backwards, upside down.... she doesn't know these things.

Matt's mom and I had found a beautiful outfit right after Caelan was born that I was going to use. Well.... Caelan grows like a little weed. Fortunately I tried it on him a the day before... it did not fit! So out my mom and I go shopping on that SATURDAY (!) to find something for him. This happened to be hanging off to the side in a consignment shop- we loved it! And it fit perfectly!

Poor little guy was WORN out by that afternoon- one of his favorite places is on Grandpa's shoulder.

Caelan's first Thanksgiving- he received this outfit as a baby gift- it says on one foot "Little" and on the other foot it says "Turkey."

His two new cousins- my two new nephews! Sally had Luke (left) and Mary Margaret had Solon (right) just over a week apart. They are such cuties- I LOVE the hair on both of them. Both new mommies are doing really well- so are the dads. This picture was at Christmas time. I can't wait to add Caelan to a picture with them.

****I just edited the above paragraph cause I had them backwards..... what is quite sad tho is that it wasn't that I don't know which is which... its that I (embarassingly) get my right and left backwards sometimes! Soooo.... now it right! Ummmm... CORRECT!
